Body-Centred Therapy
Embodied, ‘Body-centred’ or ‘somatic’ therapy brings awareness to the body's sensations, feelings and images. While traditional talk therapy focuses on our cognitive understanding, embodied therapy combines cognitive knowledge with body-based practices to attend to the nervous system and bring the powerful healing resource of the body to the therapeutic journey.Embodied therapy cultivates greater self-awareness and emotional regulation, supporting clients to release tension, process trauma, and reduce stress.Embodied therapy integrates many modalities and approaches, including relational psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, internal family systems and polyvagal theory to provide a holistic pathway for healing.

Kia Ora, I'm Jil
I’m so glad you’re here.I weave talk therapy with body-based explorations and psychospiritual practices, offering an integrative and holistic approach to healing. At the heart of my work is the belief that we all possess the innate ability to heal and live vibrant, meaningful lives. My role is to guide you in accessing your inner power - reclaiming resilience, choice, and safety to cultivate a more integrated and resourced sense of self.In this process, our bodies become essential allies, holding profound wisdom for transformation and healing. I’m passionate about helping you connect with this intelligence gently and with reverence, honouring your history, values, and autonomy.Equally, our connections with others profoundly shape our experiences. Healing happens in relationships - just as we are shaped and sometimes wounded by relationships, we can also be restored through them. I work relationally, bringing empathy, non-judgment, and unconditional acceptance to foster safety and a nurturing therapeutic connection.
